POSITION: PROJECT MANAGEMENT/OPERATIONS/EXPEDITING AND ASSISTANT TO DESIGNER

JOB DESCRIPTION: WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN EFFICIENT, COMPUTER SAAVY INDIVIDUAL WITH THE ABILITY TO KEEP TRACK OF ALL ASPECTS OF THE COMPANY. THIS INCLUDES PRODUCT PURCHASE ORDERS, EXPEDITING AND TRACKING, CUSTOMER AND VENDOR INVOICING AND THE OVERSIGHT OF EACH PROJECT FROM BEGINNING TO END AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. THIS POSITION IS PRIMARILY A "BEHIND-THE-COMPUTER" POSITION BUT IS NOT LIMITED OR SUBJET TO THAT.  EACH DAY IS DIFFERENT AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF TIMES WHERE YOU WILL SPEND DAYS HELPING PULL FABRICS, VISITING SHOWROOMS AND MEETING WITH REPS AND SITE VISITS.  THIS PERSON WILL NEED TO WORK AT AN EXTREMELY FAST PACE AND MANAGE SEVERAL JOBS AT ONCE. SOMETIMES THINGS CAN GET CHAOTIC AND WE NEED SOMEONE THAT CAN BOUNCE FROM JOB TO JOB TO EXECUTE THE TASK AT HAND.

WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU:

  • PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT/OPERATIONS. EXPERIENCE IN THE INTERIOR DESIGN BUSINESS IS A MUST.  WE ASK THAT YOU HAVE AT LEAST 1+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY.
  • SAAVY COMPUTER SKILLS INCLUDING PROFICIENCY/EXPERIENCE IN QUICKBOOKS IS A MUST. (THIS IS CRUCIAL AS WE FLY BY THE SEAT OF OUR PANTS OVER HERE AND DON’T HAVE THE TIME TO TEACH THESE SKILLS!). 
  • EXCELLENT WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS. (YOU WILL BE WRITING/REPLYING TO EMAILS AND VOICE CALLS ON A DAILY BASIS).
  • SELF MOTIVATED AND ORGANIZED
  • ABILITY TO WORK AT A FACE PACE AND GO WITH THE FLOW. (SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO DROP ONE TASK TO COMPLETE ANOTHER, EVEN IF IT COMPLETELY INTERRUPTS WHAT YOU ARE WORKING ON!)
  • WILLINGNESS TO HOP IN YOUR CAR AND PICK UP SAMPLES, DROP OF TEXTILES OR MEET WITH A REP. SOMETIMES YOU WILL HAVE TO BE A GOPHER!

HOW MUCH WE NEED FROM YOU: YOU WILL BE WORKING AS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AND PAID AT AN HOURLY RATE. WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE THAT CAN COMMIT TO A MINIMUM OF 32 HOURS A WEEK (4 DAYS A WEEK). OUR TYPICAL WORK DAYS ARE FROM 9AM-5PM, HOWEVER, WHEN THINGS GET CRAZY SOMETIMES WE SOMETIMES NEED TO PUT IN A LITTLE MORE TIME TO GET THE JOB DONE AND MEET DEADLINES. YOU ARE BEHIND THE SCENES PERSON WE DESPERATELY NEED.
